About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Dietitian to join our dedicated Dietetics Team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Dietitian, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality dietetic services to patients with gastroenterology conditions, including those with cancer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver specialist evidence-based dietetics for gastroenterology patients, including those with cancer.
  • Facilitate and deliver effective evidence-based dietary and nutrition education sessions for patient groups and staff.
  • Promote and develop nutrition risk screening practice through other staff for all patients with a cancer diagnosis, especially those receiving chemotherapy.
  • Advise and make recommendations on the prescription of enteral feeds and dietetic supplements based on nutritional assessment and drug prescriptions.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to facilitate timely and effective nutrition interventions for patients.
  • Hold others to account to support service delivery and safe practice.
  • Organize own workload while supervising others.
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
Requirements
  • HCPC Registration
  • Postgraduate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent
  • Experience in gastroenterology and cancer care
  • Leadership and clinical supervisory skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of local and national priorities and best practice
