About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Dietitian to join our dedicated Dietetics Team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver specialist evidence-based dietetics for gastroenterology patients, including those with cancer diagnoses.
  • Facilitate and deliver effective evidence-based dietary and nutrition education sessions for patient groups and staff.
  • Promote and develop nutrition risk screening practice through other staff for all patients with a cancer diagnosis, especially those receiving chemotherapy.
  • Advise on the prescription of enteral feeds and dietetic supplements based on nutritional assessment and drug prescriptions.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to facilitate timely and effective nutrition interventions for patients.
  • Supervise and teach junior staff, patients, carers, and members of the multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
  • HCPC Registration
  • Postgraduate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent
  • Experience in advanced communication, motivational interviewing, and behaviour change skills
  • Leadership and clinical supervisory skills training
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience in supervision and appraisal of junior team members
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate service provision through audit and data collection
