About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Specialist to join our team at DE&S. As a Safety Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our armed forces by providing expert advice and guidance on engineering design and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical advice and support to internal and external stakeholders on safety management systems and processes.
  • Lead the development and management of Safety Cases at Project level, ensuring compliance with relevant UK and EU legislation and regulations.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of policy and process to satisfy the DE&S corporate standards for Acquisition Safety Management.
  • Work with colleagues at all levels to ensure the effective implementation of safety risk management processes.
Requirements
  • Level 4 Qualification (HNC or NQF or above) in a relevant safety, engineering or science discipline.
  • Experience of providing technical advice and delivery of safety products or services in a work environment.
  • Experience in the use of System Safety Management Tools and Processes.
