About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Engineer to join our team at DE&S. As a key member of our Land Engineering Division, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our armed forces by providing expert advice and guidance on engineering design and development.

Your primary responsibility will be to identify and mitigate safety risks associated with our equipment and systems, working closely with colleagues at all levels to ensure compliance with relevant UK and EU legislation and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage Safety Cases at Project level
  • Provide specialist advice on the application of Safety Management systems
  • Lead production and contribute to Safety Management Plans
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of policy and process to satisfy the DE&S corporate standards for Acquisition Safety Management
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Level 4 Qualification (HNC or NQF or above) in a relevant safety, engineering or science discipline
  • Experience of providing technical advice and delivery of safety products or services in a work environment
  • Experience in the use of System Safety Management Tools and Processes
