About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Scientific Computing Graduate to join our team at the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC). As a Scientific Computing Graduate, you will be part of a dynamic team that researches, develops, and supports leading-edge high-performance computational and data storage infrastructures and scientific software to perform and support world-class science.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement high-performance computing solutions to support scientific research
  • Design and implement data management systems to store and manage large complex scientific datasets
  • Collaborate with scientists to deliver software solutions to meet their requirements
  • Work on projects to develop and deploy new system tools to monitor and manage large-scale computing resources
Requirements
  • Achieved or be on course to achieve a minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant field of study
  • Have the right to live and work in the UK at the time of starting employment
  • Experience of Linux system management, clouds, PC/server hardware, or networking
  • Programming experience in languages such as Java, JavaScript, C, C++, or Python
  • Experience of software engineering methodologies
