About the Role:

Hampshire County Council is seeking a dynamic and motivated Senior Commercial Commissioning Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Sufficiency Service, you will play a crucial role in commissioning capacity in the external market to support Children's Services in meeting statutory sufficiency duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commission placements for children in care and children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
  • Develop and implement commissioning and category plans in collaboration with the Senior Category Manager
  • Build strong and sustainable relationships with suppliers to secure market share and best value for our placements
  • Lead on contract monitoring and evaluation to ensure providers are delivering high-quality services
  • Collaborate with the Senior Category Manager and other stakeholders to achieve shared objectives

Requirements:

  • Highly organized and solution-focused with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent IT skills, including data management and presentation
  • Commercial acumen and ability to deliver cost-effective services
  • Clear communication and interpersonal skills

Travel Requirements:
