Are you an experienced culinary professional dedicated to enhancing the dining experience for seniors? Jewish Care is seeking a Chef Manager for our Retirement Living Care Home.

In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that our residents receive high-quality, nutritious, and delightful meals.

This position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, including some weekends.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Menu Design: Develop appealing and nutritionally balanced menus tailored to the dietary needs and preferences of seniors.
  • Meal Preparation: Supervise the cooking and presentation of meals, ensuring quality, taste, and visual appeal while maintaining proper serving temperatures.
  • Kitchen Oversight: Manage kitchen operations efficiently, including inventory management, supply ordering, and maintaining cleanliness and organization.
  • Team Leadership: Inspire and guide kitchen staff, promoting a collaborative and positive work atmosphere. Provide training and support to ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Resident Engagement: Gather and implement resident feedback to enhance the dining experience, aiming for high satisfaction levels through outstanding food and service.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience as a Chef Manager in a comparable environment.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification.
  • Strong leadership and effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of nutritional needs and dietary considerations for seniors.
  • Ability to craft innovative and enticing menus.
  • Familiarity with kitchen management systems and inventory oversight.
  • Understanding of health and safety protocols in culinary settings.
