London, Greater London, United Kingdom SSAFA Full time

Job Description

Overview of the Position

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Regional Casework Manager to become part of the SSAFA team, focusing on the South West of England.

In this role, you will collaborate with a dedicated group of Regional Casework Coordinators, providing essential administrative support and serving as a primary contact for SSAFA branch volunteers. Your goal will be to ensure that a consistent, timely, and high-quality service is delivered to SSAFA beneficiaries. You will be responsible for fostering and maintaining effective working relationships with volunteer casework managers, and at times, you will assist casework administrators with handling calls, directing inquiries, and managing initial client interactions.

To support your transition into this role, you will receive comprehensive training and orientation within SSAFA. You will have the opportunity to influence the operational processes and procedures of the regional office while working closely with the Regional Operations Manager.

This position is primarily home-based, although occasional travel within the South West of England may be required.

Team Dynamics

The regional office operates as a virtual environment, supporting the eight SSAFA branches across the South West of England. The successful candidate will join a larger support team, which includes seven Regional Casework Coordinators and a Regional Operations Manager, all of whom work remotely from various locations within the region.

Candidate Profile

To excel in this position, you should possess a solid educational background and experience in managing teams, along with a proven ability to oversee and report on service delivery. A successful track record in building and nurturing relationships with stakeholders, as well as achieving outcomes through negotiation and influence, is essential. Experience working with volunteers will be advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly adapt to a computerized case management system are required. The ideal candidate will be adept at planning and managing their workload with minimal oversight.

A familiarity with the lifestyle of contemporary Armed Forces members, veterans, and their families would be beneficial. Understanding the voluntary sector, particularly within the military charity landscape in the South West of England, is also valuable. A commitment to SSAFA's core values, including equality, diversity, and inclusion, is crucial.
