Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Support Engineer who will play a crucial role in the integration of design and production processes. This position is focused on ensuring that new and revised designs are optimized for manufacturing and assembly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support throughout the design development process, ensuring that all designs are suitable for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Continuously evaluate and implement new materials, processes, and work practices to enhance product quality while reducing costs and lead times.
  • Assist in the overall planning process, particularly during prototype builds.
  • Engage in bid activities from a manufacturing and assembly perspective.
  • Support project development activities, including design reviews and addressing general inquiries.
  • Review and approve drawings and design data prior to full release, ensuring manufacturability and assembly readiness.
  • Monitor product costs and collaborate with project teams to maintain budgetary constraints.
  • Identify tooling and jig requirements, facilitating their procurement and manufacturing.
  • Provide ongoing support to production during prototype and initial production phases.
  • Assist the planning team with the creation of routings, Bills of Materials (BoMs), and shop orders.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with ERP/MRP systems, particularly SAP, including the creation and management of routings, Bills of Materials, and work instructions.
  • Prior experience in industrial welding or structural assembly.
  • Technical expertise in structural assembly or industrial welding.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly techniques.
  • Familiarity with industries such as automotive, defense, military, or construction is highly advantageous.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience/qualification.
