About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Residential Deputy Manager to join our team at North Lakes Children's Services. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our residential care services, providing leadership and guidance to our staff, and promoting the well-being and development of our young people.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the Statement of Purpose is in place and reflects the needs of our young people.
  • Develop effective communication strategies and systems to support staff in their duties.
  • Manage and develop quality direct services to young people, ensuring policies and procedures are implemented.
  • Identify and meet staff training and development needs, providing support and guidance as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations and maintain a safe and healthy environment for our young people.
  • Regularly inspect the condition of our premises to ensure they are safe and well-maintained.
  • Manage finance budgets, control, administration, and records in accordance with our expectations and procedures.
  • Promote and implement our Equality and Diversity policies, ensuring staff understand and implement our Child Protection Procedures.
  • Quality Assurance - Set, monitor, and evaluate standards at individual, team, and service quality levels.
  • Communication - Establish and manage team communications systems, ensuring company procedures, policies, strategies, and objectives are effectively communicated.
  • Professional Practice - Ensure professional practice is carried out to the highest standards, developed in line with our objectives of continual improvement in quality of service.
  • General Management - Provide vision and leadership to staff, ensuring effective systems are in place for workload allocation and management.
  • Financial Management - Manage a designated budget, ensuring value for money through monitoring and control of expenditure.
  • Supervision and Appraisal - Provide supervision and appraisal to all staff, following our procedure.
  • Equality and Diversity - Promote a just society, giving everyone an equal chance to learn, work, and live free from discrimination and prejudice.
  • Confidentiality - Maintain confidentiality and not divulge personal and/or confidential information.
  • Induction - Ensure new employees receive a comprehensive induction, including the CWDC -day course.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of issues facing young people in care.
  • Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop.
  • Ability to work well as part of a small team.
  • Willingness to undertake a DBS check at enhanced level.
  • Experience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work would be advantageous.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence and ability to cover at other Residential Homes as needed.
