About the Role:

As a key member of our Major Project team at Johnson Controls, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of large-scale projects across various sectors, including Healthcare and Rail. Your expertise will be crucial in driving business objectives and ensuring the successful execution of projects within your portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of project managers, engineers, and construction managers to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Conduct regular safety and quality audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Monitor and report on Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) performance, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Take ownership of project profitability, managing budgets and resources to achieve business objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members in developing and maintaining project programs, ensuring timely completion and quality delivery.
  • Collaborate with the sales division to identify new business opportunities and develop strategic relationships with clients.
  • Contribute to regular operational reviews, analyzing project performance and identifying areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project or operational management, with a strong background in the construction industry and mechanical, electrical, and fabric services.
  • Proven ability to manage internal and external stakeholders, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Experience working across multiple projects with diverse stakeholders, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a strong focus on team development and motivation.
  • High level of commercial acumen, with experience managing a profit and loss statement within a large organization.
  • Experience managing Health & Safety in a construction environment, with a strong commitment to ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK, approximately 20% of the time.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of decarbonization measures, such as air source heat pumps, solar PV, LED lighting, and building management systems optimization.
  • Experience working within the Healthcare or Rail sector.
  • Background in the Building Services industry, with knowledge of processes required for installing mechanical, electrical, and fabric services.
  • Willingness to learn and develop, with a focus on career growth and professional development.
