Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer (Powertrain) - EV/Motorsport

EVEREC is on the lookout for a talented and experienced Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer specializing in Powertrain technologies. Our organization is a leading consultancy in the electric vehicle and motorsport industries, dedicated to assisting major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in overcoming their engineering challenges.

Role Summary:

The Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design and development of advanced powertrain components and systems, ensuring that our solutions meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the engineering design and development of powertrain systems, including but not limited to engines, transmissions, and driveline assemblies, from initial concept through to production.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to a team of mechanical engineers, promoting a culture of creativity and excellence.
  • Conduct comprehensive engineering analyses using state-of-the-art CAD software and simulation tools to produce effective and innovative designs.
  • Oversee the integration of powertrain systems with other vehicle components, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams such as electrical engineering, software development, and manufacturing.
  • Execute design evaluations, feasibility assessments, and risk management strategies to ensure the technical soundness and feasibility of projects.
  • Remain informed about industry advancements, emerging technologies, and compliance standards to ensure our powertrain solutions are both competitive and regulatory-compliant.
  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement, identifying areas to enhance design methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Manage intricate projects, balancing technical specifications, timelines, budgets, and resources to meet project objectives.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (Master's or Ph.D. is advantageous).
  • Proven experience in the design and development of powertrain components, including internal combustion engines, electric drivetrains, transmissions, and hybrid systems.
  • Expertise in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX) and engineering simulation tools (e.g., FEA, CFD).
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities, capable of tackling complex engineering issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Thorough understanding of automotive industry standards and regulations.
