About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Power Systems to join our Electrical Equipment team at BAE Systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop technical specifications and support the down selection and placement of contracts for electrical power systems.
  • Liaise and collaborate with external suppliers and customers to ensure the delivery of equipment to specification.
  • Follow design lifecycle management processes to ensure the delivery of electrical power systems to meet industry codes and standards.
  • Provide technical consultation to multi-discipline teams, suppliers, and stakeholders on matters related to power systems.
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, and presentations to communicate results and recommendations effectively.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a power systems engineer.
  • Experience with high power, medium voltage power electronics, machines, and drives.
  • Knowledge of power systems, including conversion, distribution, and generation.
  • Working experience within a relevant engineering role to industry codes and standards.
  • Complex design programs experience.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
