About the Role- As a Consultant in Ophthalmology, you will be responsible for providing expert care to patients with a range of eye conditions, from routine check-ups to complex surgeries.
- You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive the best possible care and treatment.
- You will also be responsible for teaching and training junior staff, as well as participating in clinical audit and governance activities to improve the quality of care provided to patients.
- Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of our department's policies and procedures, and to participate in local, regional, and national initiatives to improve eye care services.
- Provide high-quality patient care, including routine check-ups, surgeries, and other treatments.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care.
- Teach and train junior staff, including medical students and junior doctors.
- Participate in clinical audit and governance activities to improve the quality of care provided to patients.
- Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
- Participate in local, regional, and national initiatives to improve eye care services.
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Completion of training or fellowship in glaucoma.
- Experience in clinical audit and governance.
- Ability to teach and train junior staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
