The post-holder will support the delivery of accurate information within the Ophthalmology Medisoft system.

There will be a need to proactively improve areas of poor quality data and escalate to the Glaucoma co-ordinator any areas of concern.

Undertake activities required to ensure Patient Identifiable information is accurate and true including the correction of data entry.

Be responsible for defined areas of work linked to improving Medisoft.

Liaise with the Glaucoma Co-ordinator and progress issues to ensure data is available as appropriate for clinics.

Attend meetings and user groups regarding Medisoft.

Ensure that system security is maintained at all times and in accordance with the Trust policies and procedures escalating any issues to the Co-ordinator, GSC Team Lead and Clinical Admin Lead.

Maintain an extensive working knowledge of the software systems and the ways they are applied in the NHS workplace including, but not exclusive to PAS and Maxims.

Participate in training to extend their knowledge of the clinical data that is required to be extracted and uploaded.

Liaise with the Glaucoma Co-ordinator, Team lead or CAL on any critical problems and issues as necessary.

In addition, the post-holder will be expected to carry out any other duties in agreement with the Team Leader.

Be able to use PAS, MAXIMS and other hospital IT.

Process and interpret patient information using a range of computerised.

Skilled in the use of data entry.

Good understanding of the Data Protection Act, Caldicott Report, Computer Misuse Act, Trust Security policy and the Trust Information Governance protocol to ensure that system security is maintained at all times and data is administered.

Ability to manage and prioritise your own workload.

Ability to work with minimum supervision ensuring data accuracy and administration is always correct. Also highlighting any area of concern to your Glaucoma co-ordinator, Team Lead or CAL and working together to resolve these.
