JOB TITLE: Airside Driver

REPORTING TO: Operations Manager

LOCATION: Stansted Airport

CONTRACT: Full-Time Permanent

HOURS: 40 hours per week, 4 on 4 off (night shifts available)

PAY RATE: £12.50 per hour

ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

As a vital member of the Airside Driver team, you will operate specialized vehicles on the airfield, assisting passengers with reduced mobility (PRMs) in their transfer from the aircraft to the terminal and vice versa. Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure your success in this role. Additionally, you will support PRMs during boarding and disembarking, employing safe manual handling techniques.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure operational reliability, reporting any issues as per the Vehicle Inspection procedure.
  • Safely operate company vehicles, ensuring they are secure and well-maintained.
  • Navigate vehicles safely in proximity to aircraft, utilizing all safety features.
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle at all times.
  • Assist passengers at the aircraft door, ensuring a smooth transition to their seats or wheelchairs using safe handling methods.
  • Perform Customer Service Agent duties within the terminal as needed, which may include escorting passengers through security and assisting with boarding or baggage reclaim.
  • Keep the Allocator updated on job progress using mobile devices.
  • Adhere to all airside driving regulations at Stansted Airport.
  • Promote a safe and secure working environment.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Possession of a full, clean UK driving license with D1 category.
