About The Role
In light of our business's ongoing expansion, we are in search of a Transport Supervisor to oversee our Stansted Depot. This role involves managing the Transport Depot and stepping in for the Transport Manager when necessary.
This position offers a fantastic opportunity to be part of an award-winning Transport team, recognized for excellence in Operations, Business, and Health & Safety over the past two years.
The Transport Supervisor will work full-time, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 PM to 4:00 AM, with variable hours during peak seasons.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the transport management team in ensuring the efficient operation of the transport function.
- Oversee the trunking operations to guarantee smooth operations throughout the night.
- Ensure all vehicles comply with legal maintenance requirements.
- Assist drivers with various tasks in the Transport Yard as needed.
- Help prepare vehicles for deliveries.
- Manage drivers effectively to adhere to driving hours and working time regulations, ensuring full compliance with company protocols.
- Conduct thorough investigations of any incidents, accidents, or near misses as necessary.
- Assist the training team in onboarding new drivers to the transport department.
- Support the Transport Manager and training team in the recruitment of new drivers.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:
• Proven experience in a transport office environment for multi-drop deliveries.
• At least 1 year of team leader or management experience in a transport or logistics setting.
Desired Skills and Knowledge:
• Proficient IT skills, particularly in Excel.
• Strong understanding of driver hours and working time regulations.
• In-depth knowledge of driver compliance.
• IOSH Certificate and First Aid Certificate are advantageous.
• LGV Licence and CPC Card are preferred.
