Inverness, Highland, United Kingdom Scottish Water Full time

Join Us in Serving Scotland's Communities.

At Scottish Water, we are dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of the people in Scotland. Our mission is to ensure that essential water services are delivered seamlessly, from source to tap and from wastewater treatment to the environment.

We invite you to become a vital member of our Land and Estates Team as an Estates Surveyor for the Northern region, based in Inverness.

Your Role

As a seasoned Estates Surveyor with Scottish Water, you will serve as the primary authority, offering expert property guidance to our capital project teams. Your responsibilities will encompass managing land acquisitions and statutory claims, ensuring that the land aspects of our significant projects in Scotland are executed efficiently.

Your involvement will span various initiatives, from enhancing existing facilities and pipelines to developing entirely new projects, often set in breathtaking and challenging environments.

You will ensure that land access and acquisitions for projects in your designated area are completed promptly. Additionally, you will collaborate with skilled multi-disciplinary teams, working together to achieve our objectives.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you will possess substantial experience, relevant qualifications, and a strong interpersonal approach.

Your stakeholder management skills will be crucial, as you will engage with both internal and external parties, community organizations, and clients. You will thrive in a team-oriented environment, ready to contribute actively within a large multi-disciplinary department.

A passion for continuous learning and a proactive mindset are essential, along with proficiency in IT and solid numerical abilities.

An MRICS or FRICS qualification in infrastructure, rural, or valuation sectors is required.

Our Commitment to You

While the work we do is significant, we understand that work-life balance is equally important. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • 38 days of annual leave (inclusive of public holidays), with the option to purchase additional leave.
  • Paid time off for community volunteering.
  • Family-friendly policies for major life events, including adoption and parental leave.
  • Flexible working arrangements to support your lifestyle.
  • A defined benefits pension plan and life assurance for your peace of mind.
  • Annual company bonus and access to exclusive rewards that can help you save on various expenses.

Important Information

This position is classified as Grade 7, with a competitive starting salary based on your skills and experience. Opportunities for performance-driven salary progression are available.

We encourage candidates who may not meet every requirement to apply, as we value diverse experiences and perspectives. If you require any adjustments during the recruitment process, please let us know.

As part of our commitment to a thriving Scotland, all employees must be Scottish taxpayers. If you are not currently residing in Scotland, you will need to relocate within your first three months of employment.

We look forward to welcoming new talent to our team, dedicated to serving the communities of Scotland.
