Overview of the Position:

Ensure that comprehensive care pathways are established for individuals requiring treatment for health issues related to addiction, while guaranteeing that the clinical framework aligns with organizational policies and national standards. Develop and sustain an immunization and vaccination program aimed at mitigating blood-borne viruses (BBV) and other infectious diseases, while providing guidance and information to fellow professionals regarding BBV and the management of individuals facing drug and alcohol challenges. Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) and foster an environment that promotes learning and growth among your team, while sharing insights from senior operational and clinical management. Guarantee that all clinical services are provided at a high caliber, adhering to national standards and organizational policies, procedures, and best practices, in compliance with regulatory requirements. Oversee the clinical aspects of new service developments as necessary. Effectively lead and nurture all nursing personnel, participating in core training initiatives as needed, and offering support to colleagues within the organization. Attend, coordinate, and preside over relevant clinical advisory groups, committees, and partnership meetings to ensure appropriate representation of services. Collaborate with the Lead Physician (and/or Non-Medical Prescriber) to design, plan, and execute individualized treatment strategies that prioritize safety and enhance outcomes for service users. This includes supporting nursing staff during detoxification processes across various operational sites.

Candidate Profile:

Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and a current practice pin. Extensive experience in the health and social care sector, preferably within substance misuse. Proven experience in managing teams within clinical services and substance misuse or social care settings. Profound understanding of clinical interventions applicable to a diverse range of service users. Familiarity with UK Drug Strategy and social policy reforms. Knowledge of various treatment methodologies and harm reduction strategies. Comprehensive understanding of the regulatory framework governing clinical services and the organization. Awareness of clinical legislation pertaining to service users. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, along with proficient IT capabilities. Ability to lead with a facilitative and coaching approach. A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of partnering with a wide array of professionals, agencies, and stakeholders. Competence in managing change effectively while prioritizing the needs of service users. Recognition of the significance of information governance processes, with a commitment to adhering to all necessary safeguards. Proactive in seeking learning opportunities to enhance professional knowledge and skills, while contributing to the development of others.
