SAP FICO Solution Architect Job Description

Omega is partnering with a leading aviation company to recruit a SAP FICO Solution Architect on a permanent basis. This role is responsible for applying technical changes to the SAP system to ensure compliance with financial and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical SAP support and guidance to the finance team on Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Financial Planning & Analysis.
  • Be the focal point for all aspects of SoX and other Financial Audit related activities from an SAP Wales perspective.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate waste, simplify processes, and implement fixes within SAP FICO.
  • Review existing designs for critical and major processes, including interfaces to other systems.
  • Work with internal controllership teams and business teams to develop remediation plans for defects.
  • Support discussions with internal and external audit teams.
  • Provide data extracts and artifacts from SAP to auditors as needed.
  • Deliver projects on time and on budget.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with substantial technical experience in the SAP Finance Module.
  • Experience in a multinational business, including US GAAP and SoX.
  • Prior experience in working on SOD removal and providing best practices for finance functions.
  • Strong communication skills to transform finance team requirements into technical specifications.
  • Experience in implementing technical requirements in SAP through ABAP teams.
  • Experience with user access, roles, and responsibilities management in SAP FI.
  • Prior experience working with auditors on SAP financial controls, best practices, and implementation.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and on budget.
Desired Characteristics:
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, etc.).
  • Previous experience in an Audit role, post, or qualification.
  • Knowledge of best practice governance, risk management, and compliance in a large enterprise.
  • Good understanding of SoX controls.
  • Experience with IT Governance, IT Risk, IT Audit, IT Operations, or related fields.
