We are currently seeking a proficient Sales Ledger and Billing Officer to become an integral part of our established finance team at our Head Office in Bromsgrove.

The selected candidate will be pivotal in ensuring the Group meets its cash collection objectives while minimizing outstanding debts. This will involve effective management of the sales ledger and billing processes within a designated area, alongside providing assistance to the Credit Control Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate sales invoices in accordance with customer invoicing agreements and established billing systems.
  • Issue free text invoices for one-off chargeable expenses.
  • Follow up with local authority accounts for invoice payments and address any inquiries.
  • Allocate received payments to the appropriate ledger accounts.
  • Manage queries with regional teams and clients, ensuring proactive resolution of issues.
  • Work towards reducing debtor days on the ledger to meet agreed targets for each customer and region.
  • Maintain organized records and effective communication.
  • Ensure all services rendered are accurately invoiced for each managed region/home.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of networking at all levels.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and related software.
  • Ability to consistently meet strict deadlines.
  • Experience in a similar role, particularly in pursuing payments from Local Authorities.
  • Familiarity with Access or similar integrated systems.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a standard DBS Check, the cost of which will be covered by Polaris.
