About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our kitchen team at beBee Professionals in Kingston upon Hull, United Kingdom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen management.
  • Supervise the kitchen team, ensuring smooth operation during service and maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene.
  • Develop and implement effective inventory management systems to minimize waste and optimize supply chain efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to create innovative and engaging menu offerings that showcase fresh, high-quality ingredients.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior kitchen staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Manage kitchen finances, including ordering supplies and controlling expenses.
  • Take charge of the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring seamless operation and maintaining high standards.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role, with a strong track record of kitchen management and team leadership.
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety regulations, kitchen hygiene, and health and safety protocols.
  • Creativity, passion, and a commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients in menu development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, with a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or higher preferred).
