Position Overview
Role: Community Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Specialty Doctor
Location: Essex Region
Salary: £59,175 - £95,400 per annum (Pro-rata)
Contract Type: Substantive
Working Hours: Full-time, comprising 10 Programmed Activities (DCC:SPA = 8:2)
On-call Requirements: None
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to children and adolescents facing mental health challenges.
- Offer senior medical guidance and direct involvement in clinical cases.
- Provide mentorship and oversight to team members.
- Engage directly with young patients and their families, coordinating with external mental health providers and hospitals as necessary.
- Work alongside experienced CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrists, sharing clinical supervision responsibilities.
- Establish and maintain connections with local acute trust A&E departments and inpatient wards.
- Manage and deliver care for assigned patients, ensuring thorough assessment and planning.
- Support colleagues and contribute positively to team dynamics while demonstrating initiative.
- Supervise junior staff and collaborate with other health and social care professionals.
Qualifications Required:
- Full GMC Registration with a license to practice.
- Section 12 certification or a commitment to obtain it.
- Expertise in managing a wide range of mental health disorders in children, including neurodevelopmental conditions.
- A minimum of 4 years of full-time postgraduate training, with at least 2 years in a relevant specialty training program or equivalent experience.
