Position Overview
Join the Essex SET CAMHS team as a Senior CAMHS Specialist, where you will play a pivotal role in a well-established and diverse team dedicated to supporting young individuals facing various mental health challenges. This position is based in the Basildon and Brentwood locality, where you will utilize your extensive knowledge and experience in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) to make a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior CAMHS Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Leading the development and execution of therapeutic groups and individual therapies in alignment with the i-Thrive Model and relevant guidelines.
- Providing supervision and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Implementing strategies to support children and young people with a range of mental health presentations, including but not limited to anxiety, low mood, and trauma-related difficulties.
- Engaging with families to ensure comprehensive support and intervention.
- Contributing to the ongoing development of the service in line with best practices and emerging therapeutic models.

Probationary Period
This role is subject to a probationary period, with specific exemptions for internal candidates.
Compensation and Benefits
This position includes a High Cost Area Supplement, enhancing the overall remuneration package. Additionally, a welcome payment is available, reflecting the challenging nature of this role.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, social work, nursing).
- Eligibility for registration with the appropriate professional body.
- Demonstrated experience in providing mental health interventions to children and young people, particularly those with complex needs.
