Are you passionate about fostering community engagement within a local framework?
We are seeking a seasoned leader to oversee this dynamic church environment, dedicated to addressing the needs of the surrounding community. While the primary location is Plymouth Barbican, this role also provides support and resources to three additional sites within the city.
As the Community Engagement Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Taking a leading role in the creation and implementation of the comprehensive spiritual program at the location.
- Facilitating individual and group Christian discipleship, worship, and social initiatives.
- Establishing and nurturing connections within the church, the community, and other pertinent charities, religious organizations, and agencies.
- Managing the facility, finances, fundraising efforts, and administrative tasks at the location.
- Overseeing all personnel-related activities for direct reports, including volunteers and one employee.
To excel in this position, you should be able to demonstrate:
- A vibrant Christian faith, with the capacity to show empathy and understanding to all participants; an awareness of spiritual needs, the ability to lead prayers, and confidence in discussing spiritual topics.
- Proven success in delivering multiple programs that meet established objectives.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience in managing and developing volunteers and staff.
- Strong administrative capabilities, including financial management and health and safety compliance.
It is essential for the successful candidate to be a committed and practicing Christian, aligned with the doctrines and supportive of the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army.
