About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in the preparation and dispensing of medicines, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and dispense medicines, including non-sterile and sterile products, in a controlled clean room environment.
  • Supervise and accuracy check the work of Pharmacy Technicians, Students, and Pharmacy Assistants, maintaining standards of service and ensuring completion of all specified documentation.
  • Deputise for the Specialist Technicians in their absence, providing leadership and guidance to the team.
  • Contribute to departmental forward planning, ensuring the smooth operation of the Pharmacy Aseptic Services.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Must be able to work methodically and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, with excellent communication skills and a pleasant and helpful manner.
  • Must possess initiative and be able to work well within a team, with a portfolio of evidence for continuing professional development.
  • Significant post-qualification experience in dispensing of medicines, with a BTEC in Pharmaceutical sciences or equivalent Certificate of Accreditation as a Checking Technician.

Desirable

  • Able to mix well with current staff establishment, with experience in ward top-up Aseptic preparation, Cytotoxic reconstitution, and Medicines Management.
