About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Head of Business Development to join our Sales team at WGSN in London. This is a hybrid role with an expectation of 2-3 days in our London office per week.

The successful candidate will oversee a team of 17 sales members, responsible for EMEA as their sales region, managing teams across different locations/countries. They will be responsible for creating a strategic sales plan that ensures excellent customer acquisition, driving average order value, and increasing market share.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of new business sellers responsible for monthly value deals.
  • Identify business opportunities, build key prospect relationships, negotiate, and close business deals, and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
  • Develop sales strategies, evaluate performance, forecast, and provide support and corrective measures when necessary.
  • Manage the sales process through to its close, including qualifying the viability of potential sales, delivering winning presentations, contract negotiations, legal and procurement discussions.
  • Provide weekly forecasts of sales opportunities closing and an accurate overview of new business pipeline as it relates to monthly quota.
  • Analyze performance patterns behind the numbers and build strategies to consistently achieve better results.
  • Create incentive plans and commission schemes for approval, driving the team and business forward.
  • Develop a strong business network and experience working with consumer insight, design industries, and consumer-driven companies.
  • Manage a multi-region territory in a direct business-to-business sales function, with experience in subscription-based services, information industry, and software sales.
  • Strong oral presentation skills required for virtual and in-person meetings and trainings.
  • Experience working with CRM (Salesforce, Salesloft) and overseeing Salesforce database, opportunity pipeline, and lead cultivation.
