We are seeking an experienced Ecologist or Senior Ecologist to join our team at FPCR Environment and Design Ltd. As a key member of our ecology team, you will play a pivotal role in leading and delivering high-quality ecological assessments, surveys, and mitigation strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and deliver high-quality ecological assessments, surveys, and mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with our talented team of ecologists, landscape architects, and environmental planners
- Manage and deliver ecological projects, meeting deadlines and exceeding client expectations
- Conduct surveys, assessments, and project management of smaller jobs
- Advise clients on biodiversity net gain, DEFRA statutory biodiversity metric, and production of associated reports and plans
- Develop and maintain sound knowledge of UK ecology legislation, guidelines, and best practice
- Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including clients, colleagues, and external partners
- Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Proven track record in managing and delivering ecological projects, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines and exceeding client expectations
- At least 1 year's experience in ecological consultancy, with a strong focus on conducting surveys, assessments, and project management
- Sound knowledge of UK ecology legislation, guidelines, and best practice
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Experienced in advising clients on biodiversity net gain, DEFRA statutory biodiversity metric, and production of associated reports and plans
- Membership or eligibility for membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. CIEEM)
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Competitive salary, dependent on experience and grade
