Ecologist to Senior Ecologist Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced ecologist or senior ecologist to join our team at FPCR Environment and Design Ltd. As a leading integrated design practice, we offer a unique opportunity to work on complex and rewarding projects, collaborating with a talented team of ecologists, landscape architects, and environmental planners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver high-quality ecological assessments, surveys, and mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement ecological projects.
  • Provide technical advice to clients on biodiversity net gain, DEFRA statutory biodiversity metric, and associated reports and plans.
  • Develop and maintain sound knowledge of UK ecology legislation, guidelines, and best practice.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including clients, colleagues, and external partners.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • For the Senior Ecologist role, a proven track record in managing and delivering ecological projects, including medium to large-scale and complex sites.
  • For the Ecologist role, at least 1 year's experience in ecological consultancy, with a strong focus on conducting surveys, assessments, and project management.
  • Sound knowledge of UK ecology legislation, guidelines, and best practice.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Membership or eligibility for membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIEEM).
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
