Position: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Crawley

Mace is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to manage the estimation of expenses, material requirements, and project schedules for a significant mixed-use redevelopment initiative located in Crawley.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the lead project manager and engage with external client personnel, key stakeholders, and the internal project team. You will be entrusted with the comprehensive management of designated tasks on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting cost assessments for repair and maintenance projects.
  • Preparing and evaluating project cost estimates for tenders, including materials, quantities, labor, and timelines.
  • Implementing risk and value management strategies, along with cost oversight during the construction phase.
  • Identifying, analyzing, and formulating responses to commercial risks.
  • Negotiating contracts and project timelines.
  • Overseeing project budgets to ensure optimal value.
  • Evaluating outcomes and composing detailed progress reports.
  • Advising on and executing procurement strategies.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Quantity Surveying.
  • Experience with a principal contractor.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Availability to start promptly.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Crawley four days a week.
