Job Summary:

Infraspec is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team and play a key role in delivering complex construction projects. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for developing and managing cost plans to ensure financial efficiency, working closely with the Programme Commercial Manager and the Construction team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Planning and Control: Prepare detailed budgets and cost estimates at various project stages, from initial concept to final construction, including internal costs.
  • Cost Management: Control project costs and prevent overruns by tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Measurement and Risk Assessment: Conduct accurate measurement, rate analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Cost Updates: Regularly update cost plans to reflect design changes and market conditions.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure projects are completed within budget and provide optimal value.
  • Procurement: Support the development of appropriate procurement strategies, and run procurement exercises.
  • Contract Administration: Administer contracts for design and construction contracts as they are awarded, including change management.
  • Reporting: Accurately report on spend, anticipated final cost, and forecasting future months' expenditures through to completion.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a cost engineering, contract management, or commercial role within the construction or infrastructure sectors working on projects typically over £5 million.
  • Education: Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering, construction, or business-related field.
  • Skills: Full working knowledge and understanding of using web-based contract management tools (e.g. CEMAR). Thorough understanding of NEC suite of contracts, and associated contract administration and negotiations.
