Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Senior Product Safety Specialist will oversee the comprehensive safety of the ALS product. This position entails developing and managing the Product Safety Case, authorizing product safety deviations, and supervising risk mitigation strategies.

You will play a crucial role in fostering a robust product safety culture and assisting technical teams in meeting ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable) standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain the Product Safety Case.
• Authorize product safety deviations and endorse risk mitigation plans.
• Keep senior stakeholders updated on product safety risks through established KPIs.
• Promote the development and sustenance of a strong product safety culture.
• Coordinate and lead product safety evaluations (HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA).
• Implement risk mitigation initiatives.
• Conduct Functional Safety Assessments to demonstrate ALARP compliance.
• Provide expertise in Root Cause Analysis for effective problem resolution.

Qualifications:
• STEM degree with experience in product safety within a regulated sector.
• Chartered Engineering Status is preferred but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in safety analysis methodologies such as HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, FTA, and CAE Safety Case.

Familiarity with safety standards in the commercial marine industry, as well as those applicable in Naval, Civil Aerospace, Rail, Oil & Gas, or other process industries is essential.
