Product Safety Engineer

iO Associates, a reputable project business, is seeking a Product Safety Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety of products and systems developed, designed, manufactured, and maintained by the company.

The Product Safety Engineer will advise project and engineering managers on product safety matters, ensuring that safety considerations are effectively addressed and implemented. They will collaborate with third parties to review and gather evidence for the safety case, develop physical and functional safety arguments using appropriate analysis methods, and produce and update safety case and safety management documentation in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advise project and engineering managers on product safety matters
  • Collaborate with third parties to review and gather evidence for the safety case
  • Develop physical and functional safety arguments using appropriate analysis methods
  • Produce and update safety case and safety management documentation
  • Line manage other safety professionals

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of safety engineering processes, practices, and tools, as well as a strong grasp of safety engineering and assurance principles. Qualified engineers from other disciplines who exhibit the right behaviors and an understanding of safety engineering will also be considered.
