About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Assistant Chef to join our team at HC-One. As an Assistant Chef, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety in our care homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the First Chef in managing the kitchen and ensuring the smooth operation of food services.
  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals for our residents, taking into account their dietary needs and preferences.
  • Manage food stock, budget, and inventory, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and coaching to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety, adhering to regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent.
  • Excellent understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and residents.
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to recognize signs of possible abuse, harm, or neglect and know what to do if concerns arise.
