About the Role

The NHS England is seeking experienced advanced practitioners/clinicians to fill two positions as Advanced Practice Training Programme Directors. The successful candidates will play a crucial role in supporting the development of advanced practice training across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise on advanced practice specialty-specific matters happening regionally and nationally.
  • Support recruitment to advanced practice training posts and programmes and manage trainee/trainer concerns.
  • Use educational resources to support learners within programmes to fulfill their full potential.
  • Advanced Practice programme management, including assessments, progression, support and remediation, trainee management, careers support and less than full-time training.
Working with the Regional Faculty for Advancing Practice

The TPDs will work closely with the Regional Faculty for Advancing Practice to support the implementation of the NHSE Quality Framework. This will involve:

  • Emphasizing the importance and promoting the development of a quality learning environment for all learners.
  • Supporting effective ICB/organisational workforce planning that includes advanced practitioners across all healthcare settings and professions.
  • Increasing systems knowledge and understanding of the impact advanced practitioner roles can have on service delivery, service transformation, improved patient care, continuity of care and increase clinical decision making within the multi-disciplinary team.
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Education to Masters' level, or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in a specialist area and healthcare leadership.
  • Current membership to a regulatory body/Fellowship of a College, Faculty, professional association.
  • Extensive knowledge of healthcare education management or commissioning, acquired through postgraduate diploma or equivalent experience or training.
