The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Account Executive to join our thriving commercial team in Northampton. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial business for existing clients and growing a strong pipeline of new business across various lines of commercial insurance. This role requires a high level of FCA compliance and a strong understanding of commercial insurance products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Retain existing clients through proactive client management and relationship-building
  • Build client confidence in Astute through expert knowledge and delivery of service
  • Identify and contact potential clients, converting them to new business
  • Communicate the firm's proposition to clients effectively
  • Generate referrals and introductions for clients to other areas of the firm's operations
  • Follow Astute processes and policies
  • Work within FCA rules and guidance as interpreted by the firm's compliance policies and processes
  • Proactively create, manage, and follow up on prospects to create a pipeline of prospective new clients
  • Collect fees and premiums in accordance with the firm's processes
  • Build strong working relationships with the immediate team and all stakeholders, and effectively network with suppliers and clients
  • Achieve assigned sales targets

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Commercial Account Executive, ideally with 5 years' industry exposure
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance products
  • Experience of working to high standards of FCA compliance
  • Consistent record of target achievement and business growth
  • I.T. skills, including use of an insurance IT system, ideally Acturis or OpenGI
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work to a high level of accuracy
  • Exemplary customer service skills, with the ability to build solid relationships with clients and insurers
  • Regulatory and compliance awareness
  • Willingness to work towards Cert CII or already hold qualifications
