We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Maintenance Manager to join our esteemed Engineering Department at the Canary Riverside Plaza Hotel, a premier 5-star establishment located in the vibrant Canary Wharf area of East London.

As the only independent five-star hotel in Canary Wharf, our property boasts 142 spacious guest rooms and suites, each offering breathtaking views of the River Thames and the city skyline. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Engineering Team, ensuring adherence to service standards and maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate with Housekeeping to prioritize maintenance tasks across all guest rooms and public areas.
  • Establish and maintain systems to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations for both guests and staff.
  • Engage with government agencies to uphold statutory compliance.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for capital expenditures and repairs.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the hotel property to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Respond to emergencies and perform necessary repairs to mechanical equipment.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure the safety and maintenance of all hotel fixtures and fittings.
  • Implement energy conservation initiatives to reduce operational costs.
  • Coordinate renovation projects, overseeing contractors to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor key performance indicators for the Engineering Department and implement improvements as needed.
  • Manage team member activities, including recruitment, performance management, and training.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of experience as a Maintenance Manager in a luxury hotel environment or have served as an Assistant Maintenance Manager ready to advance. Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry systems is essential. Excellent communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and strong organizational capabilities are key attributes we seek.
