Bath, Bath and North East Somerset, United Kingdom HCRG Care Group Full time

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Support Specialist to become a vital member of our Children's Continuing Care Team. This role involves providing essential care to children with intricate health requirements, including those with tracheostomies, gastrostomies, and various other medical conditions.

Comprehensive training will be provided in all aspects of the role, ensuring you gain the confidence needed to manage these health complexities and make a significant impact on the lives of the children and families we serve.

Opportunities Available

We offer both full-time and part-time positions, with shifts scheduled throughout the week, including one weekend every four weeks. The majority of shifts will occur overnight, typically from 10 PM to 7 AM.

As a Healthcare Support Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting one child throughout their entire care journey, delivering a compassionate and personalized care package. There are also opportunities to take on additional care responsibilities based on your availability. Many of our team members have advanced to assistant practitioner roles and pursued further training to enhance their professional skills.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will provide high-quality, empathetic care to a child during the night by adhering to their individualized care plan. Building meaningful and professional relationships with the children and families we support is essential.

Each shift will involve completing checklists to ensure you have the necessary equipment for safe care. Throughout your shift, you may encounter various care needs, all in accordance with a care plan established by our nursing staff. Responsibilities may also include personal care, monitoring for signs of discomfort or illness, and knowing when to reach out to parents for guidance during the night.

Shifts typically commence at 10 PM and conclude at 7 AM, taking place in the child's home environment. You will have access to an on-call staff member for any questions or concerns that may arise during your shift.
