Substance Misuse Team Supervisor

Manchester, United Kingdom Greater Manchester Mental Health NHSFT Full time

Job Overview

The Office of Health Improvement and Disparities has allocated funding to establish a Rough Sleeper Drug and Alcohol (RSDA) Team. This dynamic and pioneering team will implement a tailored, assertive outreach model for addiction treatment aimed at individuals with substance misuse challenges who are at risk of homelessness or currently experiencing homelessness.

The team will consist of a Multi-Disciplinary Team, including Medics, Non-Medical Prescribers, Harm Reduction specialists, Recovery Coordinators, Neuropsychologists, and others, all integrated into the Addiction Achieve framework and local authority homeless services. Designated housing outreach workers will collaborate closely with the RSDA Teams.

This service is designed to assist individuals facing multiple challenges and social exclusion, which often complicates their ability to secure and maintain suitable housing, thereby increasing their risk of recurring homelessness. The successful candidates will join an established and expanding network of homeless service teams, which includes clinical psychology, psychiatry, and dual diagnosis professionals across various services.

As a key member of the team, you will possess substantial experience in a health or social care environment, along with a level 3 NVQ in health or equivalent qualifications. A solid understanding of substance misuse and its impacts is essential.

Primary Responsibilities

You will support the Rough Sleepers Drug and Alcohol (RSDA) teams throughout Bolton and Salford in managing a designated caseload of complex service users. This involves delivering appropriate interventions and coordinating with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure that the needs of service users are effectively met.

In your role as Team Supervisor, you will also assist the Team Manager in delivering a high-quality service by taking a proactive role in service enhancements within your area of expertise and overseeing a specific group of staff.
