About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Substance Misuse Nurse to join our team at Change Grow Live. As a Tobacco Addiction Specialist, you will play a vital role in promoting the benefits of stopping smoking and providing support to service users wishing to become smoke-free.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement tobacco addiction interventions, including nicotine replacement therapies and pharmacotherapy options, under the guidance of PGDs.
  • Provide training and intervention across various settings to targeted groups, promoting behavior change and supporting individuals in their journey to quit smoking.
  • Build effective partnerships with local agencies and organizations to promote the service and provide support to service users.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and risk management plans, ensuring the service operates within contractual and administrative requirements.
  • Record and input client data into the Quit Manager data system, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
About You:

We are looking for a First-level registered nurse with recent relevant post-qualification experience and a current PIN. You will have a sound knowledge of working within PGDs and be willing to undertake specific tobacco addiction training as required.

  • Experience of contributing to project development and knowledge of motivational interviewing techniques and behavior change.
  • Ability to assess and formulate treatment plans with service users and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Practise in a compassionate, respectful way, maintaining dignity and wellbeing, and responding flexibly to the demands of the post.
