About the Role:
As a Nuclear Safety Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and integrity of the UK's nuclear deterrent throughout its lifecycle. This position requires innovative thinkers who are eager to tackle unique challenges in the field of nuclear safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive warhead safety assessments, ensuring timely and thorough delivery in accordance with established management protocols.
  • Perform safety analyses aligned with regulatory requirements throughout the engineering lifecycle.
  • Utilize appropriate safety methodologies, tools, and techniques in product evaluation.
  • Address both system-level and detailed component or material concerns.
  • Engage with various stakeholders as part of a broader system design and verification team, effectively managing competing priorities.
  • Participate in outreach initiatives, including presentations at external conferences and symposia.
Qualifications:
  • A degree in science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A keen interest in high-stakes safety assessments and a desire to develop expertise in nuclear safety.
  • Demonstrated engineering and scientific judgment.
