Job Summary

The Defence Nuclear Enterprise is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Environment Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Nuclear Transport Programme, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of nuclear materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Safety and Environmental Risks: Develop and implement strategies to mitigate safety and environmental risks associated with nuclear transport.
  • Comply with Regulations: Ensure compliance with MOD policy, legislation, and procedures related to nuclear transport safety and environmental management.
  • Develop and Maintain Safety Cases: Create and maintain safety cases for vehicles and equipment used in nuclear transport operations.
  • Coordinate Safety Management Activities: Collaborate with stakeholders and teams to ensure effective safety management across nuclear safety management interfaces.
  • Support Programme Activities: Provide SQEP advice on safety and environmental requirements to support programme activities.

Requirements

  • Professional Qualifications: Hold a professionally recognized environmental management qualification or relevant experience.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Hold a STEM qualification at Level 6 or System Safety Practitioner (MOD internal applicants only) and/or PGCert System Safety Engineering.
