Job Summary

The Defence Nuclear Enterprise is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Environment Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Nuclear Transport Programme, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of nuclear materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Safety and Environmental Risks: Develop and implement strategies to mitigate safety and environmental risks associated with nuclear transport.
  • Comply with Regulations: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to nuclear safety and environmental protection.
  • Develop and Maintain Safety Cases: Create and maintain comprehensive safety cases for nuclear transport operations, including risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and regulatory bodies, to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Provide Technical Expertise: Offer technical guidance and support to programme teams on safety and environmental matters.

Requirements

  • Professional Qualifications: Possess a professionally recognized environmental management qualification or relevant experience.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Hold a STEM qualification at Level 6 or a System Safety Practitioner (MOD internal applicants only) and/or PGCert System Safety Engineering.
