Thorn Baker Group is a dynamic and innovative organization in the construction sector, currently expanding its operations. As part of this growth, we are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Advisor to enhance our safety team in the South West region. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a culture that values safety and well-being, while providing a flexible work environment that respects work-life balance.

The successful candidate will report to the Health and Safety leadership team and will be responsible for conducting site inspections across various locations. Your role will involve monitoring and evaluating health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering a proactive safety culture. Strong communication skills and the ability to anticipate challenges are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients and internal health and safety teams
  • Participate in health and safety meetings with clients
  • Assist site teams with all health and safety matters
  • Review and improve safe systems of work
  • Conduct thorough workplace inspections and document findings
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to identify root causes

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in the construction industry
  • Proficient communicator with experience in client-facing roles
  • Team-oriented individual with a solid understanding of health and safety practices in construction and building services
  • Competent in IT with strong report-writing abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH Construction certificate or equivalent
