Support Assistant for Children with Special Needs

Location: Yorkshire and the Humber, West Yorkshire, Leeds

Job Type: Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £85 - £100 Per day

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitating the educational and social growth of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Assisting educators in designing and implementing customized lessons for SEN students
  • Providing individualized support to SEN pupils to help them reach their academic objectives
  • Contributing to classroom management and ensuring a secure and inclusive learning atmosphere
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and families to enhance the overall development of SEN children
Essential Qualifications:
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Experience in working with children or individuals with SEN
  • Knowledge of various learning styles and methods to assist SEN children
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Educational Background:

Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Experience Required:

Previous experience working with children or individuals with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of SEN and the challenges to learning encountered by these children
  • Capability to offer personalized support and adjust to the requirements of SEN pupils
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Training in safeguarding and first aid
Work Environment:
  • Primarily in a school setting
  • Full-time hours, temporary position

All stated pay rates will include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the possibility of a permanent role becoming available later.
