We are seeking a Senior Collections & House Officer to enhance our operations at Blickling Estate.

Your expertise in planning and programming will be essential in fostering a collaborative, innovative, and supportive environment. We require an individual who can advocate for exemplary collections management practices, devise engaging programming, and collaborate across various sectors of the estate to narrate diverse stories.



Work Environment

In this role, you will report to the Property Curator and oversee a team of three Collections & House Officers, along with volunteers, to ensure effective collections management throughout the estate. Your leadership will help us redefine significance and create strategies for preservation and broad dissemination.



Key Responsibilities

Your main duties will include:

  • Planning and executing programming initiatives and core interpretation, ensuring necessary resources are available for a comprehensive activity schedule aligned with estate programming.
  • Managing the development of new inventory records and coordinating legal ownership and provenance efforts to enhance the diversity of our conservation, interpretation, and public presentation.
  • Leading by example to cultivate a culture of outstanding customer service, engaging visitors with our collections and the core values of the National Trust.
  • Supervising the daily operations of the house and the presentation of the collection, focusing on visitor engagement and experience one day per week and one weekend every four weeks.
