London, Greater London, United Kingdom Moss Full time
Job Overview

Company Background:

Moss is dedicated to excellence in craftsmanship, experience, and sustainability. We are a brand that resonates with our customers and values our employees. Our mission extends beyond menswear; we are committed to 'Styling individuals for moments that matter'. Our services cater to a diverse clientele, whether they seek a rental outfit, an upgrade to their daily attire, or a bespoke creation, backed by over 170 years of tailoring expertise.

Role Objective:

The Retail Operations Analyst plays a crucial role in leveraging comprehensive data to conduct an in-depth analysis of store performance metrics. This position involves identifying critical challenges such as underperforming and overperforming stores, staff transaction rates, and transaction quality. The analyst will collaborate with the Retail Operations team to optimize staff deployment based on anticipated sales, customer traffic, and average transaction values. Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, this role requires close cooperation with the Head of Retail Operations, Area Managers, and the Ecommerce team to ensure cohesive objectives and streamlined store operations.

Key Duties:

  • Perform thorough evaluations of store performance, focusing on:
  • Assessing trading performance against foot traffic to uncover performance influencers and areas for enhancement. Work alongside the Head of Retail Operations and Area Managers to gather insights on conversion rates, transaction volumes, average selling prices, and upselling success at both store and employee levels.
  • Analyzing overperforming stores where high footfall and staff hours result in missed sales opportunities or challenges in maximizing average transaction values.
  • Identifying stores that are losing key sales personnel and evaluating the implications for overall performance.
  • Ensuring optimal transaction quality through effective product combinations (e.g., suits paired with shirts, trousers, and accessories).
  • Generating comprehensive sales performance reports and facilitating weekly discussions with store managers regarding performance indicators.
  • Assist the Retail Operations team with scheduling tasks, including:
  • Utilizing projected sales, foot traffic, and average transaction values to optimize staffing levels in stores.
  • Enhancing store productivity by aligning staffing with operational requirements.
  • Providing detailed recommendations and adjustments for scheduling based on data insights.
  • Support Retail Operations with various tasks to ensure seamless and efficient store management.

Qualifications for Success:

Technical Skills:

  • Proven experience in a commercial role with strong analytical capabilities, including statistical analysis and trend forecasting. Proficiency in data analysis software is essential, along with the ability to interpret and present data findings effectively.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are required.
  • Experience with Tableau or similar data visualization tools is highly advantageous for data presentation and analysis.

Personal Attributes:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, facilitating clear interactions across teams and projects. Strong collaboration skills are vital for effective teamwork.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating resourcefulness and adaptability to shifting project demands and priorities.
  • Embodies the core values and behavioral competencies of Moss in daily responsibilities and interactions.

Benefits and Perks:

  • Employee Discount: Enjoy a 70% discount across all our stores.
  • Season Ticket Loan: Financial assistance for commuting.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme: Promoting environmentally friendly travel options.
  • Discounted Gym Membership: Encouraging health and fitness through partnerships with local gyms.
  • Life Insurance: Providing peace of mind for employees.
  • Ongoing Development: Tailored career development opportunities from day one.
  • Access to Learning Resources: An online platform for skill enhancement.
  • Employee Hub: Convenient access to colleague benefits, recognition, wellbeing, and company updates.
  • New Baby Gift: Celebrating significant personal milestones of employees.

Additional Information: Our Hybrid Work Policy mandates a minimum of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
