About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Divisional Head of Financial Planning and Analysis to join our team at Biosynth. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in supporting the global Complex Chemical division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with the Complex Chemicals commercial and operational teams.
  • Develop and implement a regular finance reporting and analysis cadence.
  • Provide month-end reporting packages, including in-depth analysis of performance drivers and key performance indicators.
  • Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends, analyzing variances, and supporting gap-closing measures.
  • Support the development, training, and understanding of the Sales CRM tool.
  • Lead the regular forecasting and budgeting cycle for the Complex Chemical division.
  • Provide robust challenge to the business during planning processes.
  • Lead the capital expenditure process in close collaboration with operational teams.
  • Support the development of the SAP ecosystem alongside the Finance Process Excellence manager and IS team to improve speed and accuracy of reporting.
  • Work closely with the business to assist in the control and optimization of inventory levels and working capital.
Key Deliverables and Performance Indicators
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of key business planning deliverables.
  • Drive focus on profit and loss efficiency and cash conversion rate.
  • Provide regular financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain half-year forecasts and budgets.
  • Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts.
Candidate Requirements
  • University degree in business and/or accounting.
  • ACCA/CIMA qualification is essential.
  • Extensive experience working in a financial planning and analysis or group finance environment is essential.
  • Understanding of working in a complex divisional structure and international business is required.
  • Experience in a private equity portfolio company would be desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry would be desirable but not essential.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills in a senior management environment.
  • Day-to-day experience with SAP.
  • Comfortable extracting and working with large data sets.
  • Positive attitude, capable, energetic, analytical, and a solid understanding of accounting.
  • Understanding of group business processes is required.
