Trainee Shop Manager

Are you a seasoned team leader or supervisor in the retail, hospitality, or a customer-centric sector? Are you eager to advance into a managerial position?

If so, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

We are seeking to hire a trainee shop manager for our locations in the surrounding area.

We provide a permanent full-time role with a variety of shifts, working 5 days out of 7 each week.

Please note: Training may occur in various locations, so please consider the practicality of this before applying.

What does the training entail?
  • Initial training alongside an experienced shop manager to develop your practical skills in retail leadership.
  • A phase of managing your shop with substantial support from your Area Manager.
  • Approximately 36 months into your training, you will assume full responsibility for a local shop while continuing to enhance your management skills, with guidance from your area manager.
  • Working towards a Level 4 Retail Manager apprenticeship qualification with our accredited training provider.
  • Assistance with improving your Maths and English skills (if necessary).
  • Completion of an independent end-point assessment at the conclusion of your training.

This is an 18-month training program, and upon successful completion, you will transition to a permanent employee.

In return for your dedication and effort, you will receive:

  • A starting salary of Pound Sterling 29, which will increase after 6 months.
  • A Level 4 Retail Manager apprenticeship standard qualification.

As a Trainee Shop Manager, you will:

  • Be fully accountable for your shop, ensuring customer satisfaction and completion of shop routines.
  • Inspire and guide your team towards success and efficiency.
  • Lead by example and engage in the daily operations of running a busy shop.
  • Manage key costs, including payroll, shrinkage, and waste.
  • Meet standards in customer service, cash handling, health & safety, stock management, merchandising, and presentation.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of your team.
