About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Social Work Practitioner to join our team at the City & County of Swansea. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in upholding the human rights of individuals and ensuring that the Mental Capacity Act is applied effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Line manage and supervise staff within the team, providing regular supervision and completing necessary paperwork.
  • Contribute to the development of the DoLS team, providing expertise in Mental Capacity law and contributing to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Manage the team in the absence of the team leader, ensuring that statutory responsibilities are met in a timely manner.
  • Complete DoLS authorisations and engage in performance management monitoring as required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a good understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. You will also need to be able to maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, council policies, and procedures.
